Austin Seven Ruby, 1935

The Austin Seven was the first car designed and manufactured for the working man or woman in Europe. Produced from 1923 until 1939 at Austin’s factory in Birmingham, England, it was to become one of the most commonplace cars of the 1930s throughout the world. Austin Sevens were made under license in the United States, Japan and by a German company called BMW which was especially set-up to assemble Austin Sevens for the German market. The BMW version was know as the “Dixi”. Ours is a very British version dating from 1935, with right hand drive, good old fashioned red leather seats and a “sunshine roof” for those glorious English summers. Available for fun, to pick up a special guest (with carry-on luggage only!), period costume events, photo-shoots or to get the mother-in-law to church behind the bride in one of our Rolls Royce limousines. Currently undergoing an engine re-build, will be available from September 2010.
